#1. What Is Inbound Links?
In search engine optimization (SEO) terminology Inbound link is the same as backlink. A backlink is a hyperlink that links from another Web page, back to your own Web page or Web site. That is what is called Inbound Link (IBL) these links are important in determining the popularity (or importance) of your Web site. Some search engines, including Google will consider Web sites with more backlinks more relevant in search results pages than the ones with none.
#2. What Is Outbound Links?
An outbound link is a link from your website to a site outside of your site. E.g. If someone comments on this post adding his site link, that link is considered to be outbound link.
As claimed by some experts: Outbound links send visitors away from your web site to other webpages. However, if your outbound links are providing valuable information to your visitors and raising the perceived value of your site and of your reputation as an expert, it will equally help you to build trust with your visitors which is always good for marketing purposes. Attitudes towards outbound links vary considerably among site owners. Some site owners still link freely while some refuse to link at all, and others provide links that open in a new browser tab or window and/or nofollow alt.

#3.b. Handling Outbound Links
It is important to building outbound links cos it helps in building relationships with other site owners, since the links is likely to bring traffic to their sites. If their site is within the same niche as yours and you’re bringing a lot of traffic, the site owner might eventually take notice and visit your site to see what it’s all about. This of course makes other business owners in the Internet community aware of your presence which could open the door for joint ventures, linking back to you and other marketing opportunities. Also, building outbound links to credible sites can raise your visitors perceived credibility of your site.
- Site To Link To
You need to link to site that are relevant to you as in sites within the same niche. Never link to poor, unprofessional, spam and irrelevant sites as this will lower your visitor’s perceived value of your site, and will cost you loosing them.
- Make it moderate
Do not link too much for SEO purposes, make it moderate. Otherwise, your site PR value will go down the drain. If possible add nofollow alt to those unimportant links and stop search engines from following them. It is also advisable to nofollow comment links cos of spam.
Conclusion. I believe considering the above points it’s probably a good idea to add hunt for both inbound and outbound linking to your SEO and marketing strategy. As long as you and those sites are providing valuable and relevant content to your visitors, the strategy of inbound and outbound link building can be a good investment of time and effort.
